The animal world is so wide and enchanting that it extends to the universe of cinema. That is why, throughout the history of this audiovisual medium, animals have been the protagonists of the most fantastic stories and also of very real dramas on countless occasions.
All creatures of nature have a great power to connect with the emotional vein of us, human beings, who love to see them acting and appearing in any kind of movies: comedy, mystery, adventure, romance, horror and more.
Next Sunday get comfortable on your favorite sofa, accompanied by your family and your pet, and enjoy one of the films that we have included in the list of the 10 best animal movies for kids from our site.
Animal Fanatics
On our site we are fans of all animals, and if it were up to us, we would give each one an "Oscar" award for their performance. This is why we have made a selection where you will see a little of everything from the animal kingdom. We have dogs, marine and wild animals.
Films from a few years ago but that we consider classics, others a little newer, and of course, they can never miss… animated, fun films suitable for all audiences. We invite you to enjoy the animal world from another point of view.
1. The Lion King
When I am asked what my favorite Disney movie is, without thinking twice, I answer that it is "The Lion King". I can see it a thousand times, it's just that it's an animated film classic, one of the most beloved movies for adults and children, where you laugh and cry, you feel fear and love, you get angry and happy, all in one movie.
The images of Africa where animals dance freely in the sunset are wonderful, and even if it's an animated movie, I can move and wish I was there. The characters, all animals, are more charming than others. There is none that does not conquer your heart. If you haven't seen it and you're already an adult, it doesn't matter, this film has no age limit.
two. Beethoven
A hit comedy from 1992 starring a disastrous but endearing dog St. Bernard named Beethoven, who comes to take over the house and the heart of an entire family, especially the father, who (typically) at first, can not stand the dog, but ends up falling in love with him.
This is a fun story to watch with the whole family, where you won't stop laughing. People liked Beethoven so much that a couple more sequels were made afterwards, but none were as good as the first.
3. Free Willy or Liberating Willy
Who hasn't dreamed of freeing an animal? it is wonderful to see how animals thrive in their natural environment and very sad to think how every day there are hundreds of captive animals in the world. Well, this is what "Free Willy" is about, the freedom that all beings on earth deserve and the connection that we humans can make with wild animals.
It's a dramatic movie but at the same time it gives us many life lessons. The star of the film was a beautiful orca named Keiko and Michael Jackson was the performer of the title song. A real box office hit.
4. Marley and Me
It is a very funny and real movie, although I confess that I did not stop crying from the beginning of the movie until the credits. "Marley and I" is a moving film that explores and develops all the stages of the man-dog relationship. This relationship can definitely become one of the strongest and important bonds for a person.
At times, it is a film that keeps you relaxed but, without a doubt, has its great moments of intensity. If you have a dog you will feel very identified. Don't forget to have tissues nearby for the tears that will surely come.
5. Finding Nemo
The ocean is an infinite scenario where wonderful things happen that we can't even imagine up here on the surface. Finding Nemo is a very special film that unleashes our creativity and helps us appreciate the deep beauty of the sea and the life that occurs in it.
Bravery and love play main roles in this incredible animated film, which is represented by two small fish (father and son), who cross all the seas, with the sole purpose of meeting again. Throughout their adventure they will come across other creatures, who will help and accompany them throughout the journey and from whom they will learn valuable life lessons.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that it's one of the funniest movies I've had the pleasure of seeing, but at the same time, it has a valuable meaning. It is clear that the message of the film is not only addressed to the fish and sea creatures that act in it, but also to the minds and hearts of great and human boys too. If you haven't seen it, you already have a plan for this Sunday, if you already saw it, it doesn't matter, you still have a great plan for Sunday. See it again!
6. The March of the Penguins
Within the whole selection I couldn't pass up this documentary, The March of the Penguins is as real and hard as it is beautiful and delicate. This Oscar-winning film for best documentary (and with good reason) takes us to live the story of the emperor penguins and their spectacular annual voyages where they embark on a great expedition to Antarctica leaving behind its habitat for many years (the ocean) to carry out the process of ancestral reproduction typical of its species.
In The March of the Penguins we can see exactly what life is like for these animals and everything they have to do to survive each day and to protect their young. Human beings believe that our lives are very difficult compared to that of animals. If you consider this to be the case, I recommend that you watch this film, which will surely change your mind and connect you a little more with the animal world and its reality. After you see it, we invite you to leave us a comment at the end of the article.
Music and photography are jewels, this film invites us to know, value and respect more nature and everything in it. A film 100% educational and inspirational at the same time.
7. Pets
"Pets" is undoubtedly one of the best recent movies about pets, their thoughts, their day to day life and, ultimately, it is a perfect comedyfor the little ones to enjoy. In addition, it helps us to reflect on abandoned animals from a positive and correct point of view.
8. The Jungle Book
Both the animated and realistic films are true works of art. We find in them a character in which the children identify and discover a love for animals, natureand the very special environment. It is without a doubt one of the best animal movies for children, without a doubt.
9. Chicken run, rebellion on the farm
This funny animated comedy tells the story of a group of chickens who decide to end their lives on the farm and devise a great plan to carry it out. Without a doubt one of the most hilarious, emotional and beautiful stories.
10. Lassie
"Lassie" is a very cute movie that will help your child to respect dogs more by watching the huge boy-dog bond, which displays this history. This is an exciting, lively and heartwarming movie that your child will enjoy immensely. We can find the versions from the last century and the latest from 2005.
