Although you know that you are going to offer him all the love, food and affection, the main problem is that your cat still does not know any of your intentions, nor does he know his new environment or able to understand what is happening.
If you want to understand why your kitten is crying, you must be aware that it has been separated from its mother and its litter, and even though you've waited long enough for it to receive breast milk and primary education from its mother, your pet faces what is initially a completely strange situation
He is going through a very hard experience, practically traumatic, which if not managed correctly can lead to behavior problems related to fear.
How to soothe a crying kitten?
You can gradually make your cat understand that his new environment is safe and if you acquire certain habits to increase his comfort you will see that his crying begins to diminish and that the situation becomes more manageable for both parties.
How to achieve this? Thanks to the application of a few simple tips:
- Make sure your cat sleeps in a warm placethat simulates contact with her litter. His bed should be made of material that creates a cozy feeling and it is recommended to incorporate a cushion that imitates the maternal presence as well as a clock that represents the beating of the heart.
- His bed should also be a safe areafor him, for that reason it is advisable that it be a "nest" type or "cave". When he is there you should never disturb him, wake him up or try to grab him, it must be his safe zone.
- Dedicate him as much time as possible, but without harassing him. Your kitten needs play and external stimuli, as well as a good dose of affection. Don't let him spend a lot of time alone, but when he wants to rest, don't bother him.
- Feed your kitten whenever necessary, since during his puppy stage he will need to eat several times a day. On more than one occasion you will notice that when you provide him with food he calms down almost instantly.
- Offer him treats or say kind words to him whenever he carries out a positive behavior, in this way you will gain confidence with him and reinforce the behaviors that you like.
- Avoid punishment, yelling, general stress situations, or loud sounds. Your cat must live in a stable and calm environment in order to develop properly and also have a calm and positive attitude.
- You must be totally predictable, that is, never do things that disconcert your cat, otherwise he will lose the trust he has placed in you.
