Mini or Miniature Schnauzer
The mini or miniature schnauzer is the reduced version of the standard schnauzer, the one we all know. To achieve the reduced size, especially small specimens of the breed were selected for subsequent breeding, thus achieving specimens of reduced dimensions.
Its measurements are between 30 and 38 centimeters to the withers and it usually weighs about 5 kilograms, never exceeding 7.
The physical characteristics of the miniature schnauzer are very similar to those of larger specimens. However, we must highlight something in the character of these little ones.
Miniatures are very active and alert dogs, perfect for people who want to take this sweet animal with them. They must be aware of the ex alted behavior of small breeds. They can be great for children if they are educated properly through good socialization.
It is very important to consider where we are going to adopt the miniature schnauzer. As you may know, dogs selected to foster a particular offspring often have hereditary he alth problems.
This is because inbred dogs are used for breeding, which increases the chances of genetic mutation. Some of the problems that can affect your miniature schnauzer are:

- corneal defects
- kidney stones
- liver problems
- heart disease
- diabetes
- cysts
- myotonia
For this reason you should look for an ethical breeder or better yet, consider adopting a non-breed dog! Whatever your final choice, you must make sure to carry out a responsible adoption.
Schnauzer standard
Did you know that schnauzers were used to fight rodent pests in 19th century Germany? Even so, and thanks to the character of this beautiful breed, it quickly became an excellent companion dog.
The schnauzer is an affectionate and loyal dog, also an excellent watchman and for this reason he was left in charge of horses and mares in the past: always alerted to the presence of anyone.
The characteristics of the standard schnauzer is that it measures between 45 and 50 centimeters at the withers and usually weighs about 15 or 20 kilograms, something less in the case of females.
This dog competes for second place among the most intelligent dogs and is therefore excellent at different tasks: herding, keeping company or guarding. His character is loyal and sweet although sometimes he can be a little jealous: he will love your care and spending time with you
Giant Schnauzer
The giant schnauzer dog went unnoticed for years. He was used as a working dog, guarding factories, breweries or farmyards until he was used as a military dog in World War I and II.

Unlike its smaller brethren, the Giant Schnauzer is somewhat suspicious and territorial with strangers, perhaps due to the selection of specimens with these characteristics in the past.

White Schnauzer
As we have mentioned, in addition to the characteristic "s alt and pepper" coat we can find white schnauzer dogs. It is one of the variants, accepted in the breed standard.
