Why should we offer a puppy supplements?
Food supplements are substances intended to complement a diet, that is, they are an extra that enriches your diet. Nutritional supplements are usually vitamins, minerals or amino acids and we find a wide variety on the market.
Supplements of natural origin are often used, as they are easier to obtain, cheaper and less likely to experience side effects. They are extracted from products of nature and are sometimes packaged to facilitate their use in both people and animals. They are great allies in feeding, especially in animals that are fed with homemade recipes
These supplements help to prevent nutritional deficiencies but are also useful for adding shine to their coat and improving their he alth and vitality, in especially to puppies that are growing. We must take care of the quantities and always respect what is recommended by the veterinarian but, as soon as he begins to eat feed or homemade food, we can already supplement.
Remember that supplements should be offered in small doses as they do not replace the puppy's diet or essential nutrition, they are a growth aidhe althy and happy. Here we will give a list of benefits of its use:

1. Beer yeast

Let's remember that to start administering it, it should always be very little, like all supplements, to avoid diarrhoea. The recommended dose will be in adults 1 teaspoon 3 or 4 times a week and in puppies, up to one year of age, half a teaspoon 2 times a week.

It is a potent antibacterial, it already protects our animal from urinary tract infections, stones (it can dissolve calcium deposits), digestive problems, against the bad smell of dogs (both body and mouth), gum problems or wounds in the mouth.

3. Fish oil

4. Kefir
Although dogs do not digest milk well, the truth is that kefir does not have lactose, so we can offer it without problems. If we are reluctant we can also look for water kefir, since the properties are the same.
Its greater action is digestive since it improves the intestinal flora, especially in animals that have been recovered from a condition that has weakened them much and, they were exposed to large amounts of antibiotics or drugs that wiped out all their intestinal flora. It also regulates diarrhea and/or constipation, gastritis and gallbladder problems.
We can supplement with 1 teaspoon in the dog's daily food but, if we observe that diarrhea begins, we must reduce the dose by half, until his intestine gets used to it.
