Normally cats are not a problem eater. They regulate their intake and eat until they are full, often leaving part of the feed in their trough. But there are some cats that for some reason eat frantically,and in no time have cleaned the feeder without leaving a single crumb of feed. On many occasions the consequence of this way of eating is subsequent vomiting of poorly digested food.
It's a complicated problem because you can't sit your cat down and talk to him, trying to make him understand that he should eat more slowly. It is a personal peculiarity of your cat that is part of his character. Consequently, the only way to alleviate this problem will be to think of ways to hinder the speed of your voracious cat when eating. Slow feeders
In stores that sell food and supplies for pets, they also sell metal or plastic bowls designed to make the cat's fast intake of food uncomfortable. The most common models consist of some central stops that prevent the cat from putting its whole head inside the bowl and eating without hardly breathing.
The cat must perform authentic filigrees to eat, because the whole cocorota does not fit well and must adopt positions with its head that manage to delay its wild way of eating. These slow feeders are sold between 8 and 20 €/$.
Silicone Baking Pan
Another way, cheaper than the previous one, to hinder your cat's food intake speed is achieved by using a silicone baking traymuffin.
The feed is distributed among the various cavities of the mould, forcing the cat to eat the feed poured into each cavity one by one. All the usual amount of feed should be distributed among all the small moulds.
Ice cube tray
A ice cube tray will further slow down your cat's food intake. Since the cavities are smaller and will prevent the cat from eating faster. The cells to make homemade ice cubes are very small, so your cat will have to "fish" for the food with its paw and catch it with its mouth.

Another Machiavellian way to permanently delay your cat's compulsive eating is the modality I call: the wandering cat trick.
It is very simple. You can use saucers from the coffee set, cut-out cardboard cups, or small containers in any format bought in the Chinese.
The question is to distribute the usual portion of feed that your cat consumes among several containers (between 3 and 6). Then you have to place each container in a place in the house (the further away, the better). In this way the cat will have to find with or without your help the rest of the containers. Which will force him, crestfallen, to wander around the house in search of the other feeders.
Fortunately, the cat's inability to express itself in any language other than the standard cat language, and his manifest inability to write, will prevent him from denouncing you before the Ombudsman, or any other authority.
